Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Spacebar Clicker does and does not collect. In short: the tool runs entirely in your browser, and we are built to keep it that way.

Last updated: August 11, 2026

At Spacebar Clicker, privacy is a design decision, not an afterthought. Because the clicking test runs entirely in your browser, we simply never receive most of the data that other websites routinely collect. This policy explains, in plain language, how the site works and what that means for you.

The short version

Your presses, scores, and saved history are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to us. We do not require an account, and we do not sell data to anyone.

Information you provide directly

The only time you deliberately send us information is when you email us at thespacebarclicker@gmail.com or use the contact form, which opens your own email application. In that case we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use that information solely to reply to you and keep it no longer than needed to resolve your question.

Information handled inside your browser

Spacebar Clicker itself is client side. When you press the spacebar, run a timed test, or save a score, that activity happens locally. Specifically:

  • Live presses and timers stay in the page memory and are discarded when you close the tab.
  • Saved scores are stored using your browser's local storage so they are still there when you return. This data lives on your device and can be cleared at any time using the clear history button in the tool or by clearing your browser storage.

Cookies and analytics

Spacebar Clicker does not set advertising cookies and does not build a personal profile of you. If we ever introduce privacy respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which guides are most useful, we will update this page first and keep any such measurement anonymous.

Third party services

We load a web font stylesheet from a font provider so the site displays consistently. Your browser requests those files directly, which can expose your IP address to that provider as part of a normal web request. We do not control that provider's own policies, but we deliberately keep third party dependencies to a minimum.

Children's privacy

The tool is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since no account is created and nothing is uploaded, there is no profile to build regardless of a visitor's age.

Your choices and rights

Because your data stays on your device, you are always in control. You can clear your saved scores at any time, and clearing your browser storage removes every trace of your activity. If you have emailed us and would like that correspondence deleted, just ask.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will revise this page and update the date above. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy. For anything you are unsure about, please contact us.
